Tom Brady‘s retirement shocked the NFL and the football world earlier this week, and last week, when it was originally reported. He’s always been a fantastic QB to pick in games of Madden, now he’ll go out part of the elusive 99 Club. He was a 99 overall rating twice this season, once in October when he broke the NFL’s all-time passing yards mark, and now this time. Brady led the league in passing yardage (5,316) and passing touchdowns (43) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He graced the cover of Madden 22 with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
His first year in Madden 2001, he didn’t even have a name, he was just QB12. His rating in that game was a 57 and the next year was a 51 at the start of the season. Since Madden 2004, his overall rating has never dipped below 90. He has six different times he’s been a 99 overall as well.
Brady plays the games with his kids, but unlike the real-life gridiron, he can’t seem to beat them.
Other players in the 99 Club for the 2021/22 season include Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Ramsey cornerback Los Angeles Rams, Travis Kelce tight end Kansas City Chiefs, Aaron Donald defensive end Los Angeles Rams, and Davante Adams wide receiver Green Bay Packers.
So, who do you think joins the 99 Club for Madden 23?
