Cyberpunk 2077 developer CDProjektRed amps up the hype with more trailers. This time, they’re all about our favorite terrorist/vigilante/rock star Johnny Silverhand. Not only that, we also see the man behind the character: Keanu Reeves.

The answer to how much of Keanu Reeves is in Johnny Silverhand? All of him.

CDProjektRed apparently decided that the preexisting hype around Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t enough. They’ve released one last episode of Night City Wire before they’re launching the game on December 10, 2020. And this time, the main focus is Keanu Reeves-I mean, Johnny Silverhand. They’re two different people…I think.

Cyberpunk 2077: Day of the Keanu Silverhand

The Matrix Redux?

Judging from the behind-the-scenes footage, it appears that Keanu Reeves is basically putting his heart and soul into playing Johnny Silverhand. Hence why they’re basically the same person. So when you talk to Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, you’re basically talking to Reeves. Mostly. If you take a certain attitude with Silverhand in the game.

And that’s what’s interesting about Johnny Silverhand. Apparently, depending on how you interact with him in Cyberpunk 2077, he’ll either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Or perhaps something in between. Maybe both at once? It’s all up to you.

Which one he’ll be is all up to you.

That’s not even getting into the fact that he apparently lives in your head now in Cyberpunk 2077. It seems that you’re tasked with recovering a prototype biochip in the game. When something goes wrong, and the biochip is about to be destroyed, you’re forced to plug the chip into your brain. It turns out, Johnny Silverhand’s digitized soul is on that chip, and you 2 now share your body. You practically have Keanu Reeves living in your head in the game.

“He Lives in You” taken to a whole new level.

Trippy, ain’t it? We’ll just have to see how this all plays out when we finally get to play Cyberpunk 2077. You know, before we all explode from excitement overload.

The whole episode, if you’re interested.

Conclusion

Keanu Reeves is putting all his heart and soul into playing Johnny Silverhand, and there are many versions of him you can interact with in Cyberpunk 2077. It all depends on how you talk to him and treat him over the course of the game. CDProjektRed is definitely building up the hype to a crescendo. We’ll just have to see how it finally plays out when the game finally launches on December 10, 2020.
