Break out the bulletin board and red string. We’re about to play connect-the-dots in another murder mystery series… but things are a little different in Murderville.
Will Arnett stars in the Netflix series as homicide detective Terry Seattle. Each episode will see Seattle solve a new murder alongside his partner. The twist? In each episode his fellow sleuth will be played by a different celebrity guest.
Oh, and the rotating guest stars are never given a script. So they’ll have to flex both their improv skills and their deductive skills to solve the murder.
Check out the trailer for Murderville below.
As you can see from the trailer, the guest stars for this season of Murderville include Annie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch, and Sharon Stone. In addition to Arnett, the main recurring cast includes Haneefah Wood as Chief Rhonda Jenkins – Seattle; Lilan Bowden as Medical Examiner Amber Kang; and Phillip Smithey as Detective Darren ‘Daz’ Phillips.
Here’s the official synopsis from Netflix:
Meet Senior Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett), Homicide Division. For Terry, every day means a new murder case and a new celebrity guest star as his partner. But here’s the catch: each episode’s guest star isn’t being given the script. They have no idea what’s about to happen to them. Together, the guest star and Terry Seattle will have to improvise their way through the case… but it will be up to each celebrity guest alone to name the killer. Join them as they punch a one-way ticket to Murderville.
The Netflix series is based on the BAFTA award winning BBC3 series Murder in Successville.
Murderville premieres on Netflix February 3.
