From the terrifying minds of Scott Derrickson and Robert C. Cargill comes The Black Phone. The movie is based on the short-story by Joe Hill from his book 20th Century Ghosts. The plot goes like this. A series of kidnappings and murders shake a small town. “The Grabber” (Ethan Hawke) leads his victims in and carries black balloons. When Finney Shaw (Mason Thames) is kidnapped by the man, he wakes up to an empty room with a black phone. The disconnected phone rings and Finney finds out that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. They guide him, and make sure Finney doesn’t find the same fate that they did.

Hawke’s character might be the most terrifying he’s ever played. Just take a look at that mask! The cast also includes Jeremy Davies (Hannibal) and Madeleine McGraw.

The new horror flick from Blumhouse releases in theaters on February 4th, 2022.
