We’ve all been to Raccoon City before. Whether that’s the first Resident Evil game or some other property from the franchise. However, we’ve never seen it like this before. Coming exclusively to theaters this November 24th, 2021, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City has all the hallmarks of the series. If you need a refresher, here’s what the story looks like:

Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.

Written and Directed by Johannes Roberts, the film gives us live-action versions of Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Lisa Trevor. It stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough.

We’re finally getting some live-action appearances from classic Resident Evil characters. So here’s hoping that the film can live up to the lofty standards of the series. The previous Resident Evil films were fun but didn’t capture the feeling of the series as a whole.

We’ll have to find out when it releases in theaters November 24th, 2021.
