Life is stressful. But have you ever been so stressed out you turned into a giant red panda?

Probably not. But that’s exactly what Mei Lee has to deal with in the new Disney/Pixar feature Turning Red.

Check out the trailer for the movie below:

In Turning Red, newcomer Rosalie Chiang lends her voice to Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who suddenly “poofs” into a giant red panda when she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS). Sandra Oh voices Mei Lee’s protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager.

The trailer is pretty adorable. You definitely feel Mei Lee’s mortification when her mother turns up at school. (We’ve all felt that, even if we don’t have to worry about turning into a giant red panda.)

The animated feature comes from director Domee Shi. Shi previously won an Oscar for her 2018 short film, Bao, which aired ahead of The Incredibles 2. Lindsey Collins produces the film.

Turning Red releases March 11, 2022.
