Hulu has dropped the first teaser for their upcoming Steve Martin-led comedy series, Only Murders in the Building. The show also stars Martin Short and Selena Gomez as investigators who are helping to solve a who-dunnit. According to Hulu, Only Murders in the Building:
Follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late.

Only Murders in the Building is created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman (Grace and Frankie). The executive producers are Martin and Hoffman along with Short, Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman (This is Us), and Jess Rosenthal.
Seeing Steve Martin back on the screen is already cause to celebrate, but him re-teaming with comedy genius Martin Short makes this a must-watch! Add in Selena Gomez, to be their foil, and I think this appears to be something really remarkable. As a huge fan of whodunnit’s and true crime, this looks to take a more light, comedic tone on the genre. I’m very much looking forward to seeing more footage and getting a better understanding of the mystery at hand. Hopefully, this will be another winner for Hulu!
Only Murders in the Building premieres August 31, 2021, on Hulu. After that, new episodes will premiere weekly.
