As much as fans are disappointed to learn that The Mandalorian Season 3 will be delayed, they are equally excited for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, currently in production. Leaked photos from the Kenobi set are fueling that excitement, especially since some of them appear to reveal various actors’ roles in the upcoming series. Perhaps the biggest shocker is the role Indira Varma will play. Prior speculation had her possibly playing Obi-Wan’s love interest Satine Kryze in flashbacks. We now know that is definitely not the case.

Instagram user @empirastarwarsfanclub compiled several of the leaked set photos, as you can see in the post above. Ewan McGregor certainly looks to be in full-on Obi-Wan form. Photos of the actor hint that he’ll still don some sort of Jedi-esque robes for the Kenobi series; you can tell that by the wide sleeve cuffs peeking out from beneath the black top cloak he’s seen wearing. What’s more interesting, however, is the strong Imperial representation in the Kenobi series.

Set photos reveal much about Obi-Wan Kenobi series

We already knew from Ewan McGregor that he would be interacting with Stormtroopers for the first time in his Star Wars tenure. The Imperial presence in the show, however, appears to be far greater than simply a passing patrol on Tatooine. Thanks to the leaked set photos, we know we’ll see at several Imperial officers, as well. Those officers surprisingly include Indira Varma’s character. We see her on set wearing a traditional Imperial uniform and cap.

That revelation is a bit of a shock, as many, like us, we’re hoping she’d portray Satine Kryze from the Clone Wars series. Still, her turn as Ellaria Sand on Game of Thrones should serve her well in representing the Empire in the Kenobi series. We can only hope that the two powerhouse actors (Varma and McGregor) will have some scenes together.
