The girls are back, and here to stay. Girls5eva has earned a second season over at Peacock.

The comedy series follows the sudden resurgence in popularity of a 90’s girl group. When a one-hit-wonder group gets sampled by a young rapper, its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?

The Peacock original series stars Grammy Award-winner and Tony and Emmy Award-nominated singer Sara Bareilles; Grammy and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Renée Elise Goldsberry; Emmy Award-winning Saturday Night Live mainstay and comedy icon Paula Pell; and New York Times Best-Selling author, actor, activist, writer and host Busy Philipps.

“We are so excited to continue Girls5eva alongside this incredibly talented group of cast and producers,” said Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “It was hard to miss the immediate fandom that was born after the launch of this series. This aspirational comeback story is filled with heart and friendship, perfectly blended with catchy-songs and humor, and delivered by an exceptionally versatile cast. We look forward to following this group’s journey as they continue to hit just the right notes.”

Girls5eva comes from Emmy Award-winning creator Meredith Scardino. Scardino also executive produces the series alongside Robert Carlock, Tina Fey, Jeff Richmond, and David Miner.

The series achieved “Certified Fresh” status on Rotten Tomatoes.

All eight episodes of season 1 are streaming now on Peacock. You can also listen to the official soundtrack to season 1 here.
