The people working on Into The Spider-Verse 2 have found their Spider-Woman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Issa Rae has been cast as Spider-Woman in the animated sequel. Rae joins Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld, who are reprising their roles from the first film.

There are currently no plot details, but you can expect some similar beats from the first film. Phil Lord and Chris Miller wrote the screenplay with David Callahan. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson are directing the new film. Into The Spider-Verse 2 has a release date of October 7th, 2022. The first film was a box office hit for Sony and added plenty of new characters they can draw from in their current Spider-Man universe.

Issa Rae is the star of Insecure, in addition to The Lovebirds, among other projects.
