Disney’s Disenchanted just got a little more magical. Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Jayma Mays have joined the upcoming film.

Disney announced the sequel to 2007’s Enchanted starring Amy Adams back in December 2020. Since then, we’ve learned Adams will reprise her role as Giselle, with Idina Menzel and James Marsden also set to return.

The studio hasn’t confirmed character details for Rudolph, Brown, and Mays yet. However, the trio are rumored to be playing the villains of the movie.

Disenchanted comes from director Adam Shankman and writer Brigitte Hales, whose script got the project the greenlight after the 14 years since the original film premiered.

Composer Alan Menken, who worked on the first film, will also return for the sequel. Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s songs “That’s How You Know,” “So Close,” and “Happy Working Song” from Enchanted landed Oscar nominations for Best Song.

Rudolph, known for her Emmy-winning comedic work on SNL and Netflix’s Big Mouth, also lends her voice to Disney/Pixar’s upcoming animated feature Luca

Brown starred in NBC’s Community and has recently worked with Disney, appearing in Avengers: Endgame and the live-action Lady and the Tramp. She also currently stars in the Disney+ series Big Shot with John Stamos.

Mays is known for her role on Glee and comedy Trial & Error. She recently appeared in the feature Bill & Ted Face the Music.

So, what do you think about this trio joining Disenchanted? Personally, I’m pretty excited! Drop your predictions for the movie in the comments below.
