Marvel and Disney+ are in full swing right now. WandaVision was a smashing success. The Falcon And The Winter Soldier looks like it’ll be just as much of a hit. As for their other upcoming shows, Secret Invasion might have the most intrigue and promise. The show already has Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn cast, we’re adding One Night In Miami’s Kingsley Ben-Adir as the villain. The report comes from Variety and while the exact details aren’t known, he’s supposed to play the villain of the series.

Jackson and Mendelsohn are returning as Nick Fury and Talos. The Secret Wars storyline in the comics is one of the most famous and wide-reaching. This time around, it’s likely to be a smaller affair, because it’s for a Disney+ series, instead of a movie. The events of the series might be more far reaching than we think though. Shape-shifting Skrulls have been infiltrating human events for years in the show.

Ben-Adir cut his teeth as Malcolm X in the juggernaut of a film, One Night In Miami. He also played President Barack Obama in the Showtime series, The Comey Rule. So he’s got that pedigree that Marvel and Disney are looking for.

Secret Invasion is part of the double pronged vision for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They’re augmenting the movies with Disney+ series to give characters and events that might not make it to the movies, a time to shine. So far it’s been a fantastic exercise and Secret Invasion is shaping up to be the same.
