In a surprise twist for Disney Investor Day 2020, Disney announces the development of Star Wars Visions. What is it, you may ask? Well, it’s only the first Star Wars anime series ever!
Disney announced Star Wars Visions over both YouTube and Twitter.
Star Wars Visions will be the first ever official Star Wars anime series. Not a fan-made project like TIE Fighter. But something Disney and Lucasfilm are officially creating and endorsing. We don’t have much details on this new anime. All we know is that it’s going to be an anthology of short films, just like Halo Legends. It’s also going to be the work of the “world’s best Japanese anime creators”. No specifics on which studios would work on this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney managed to get the big name anime studios on it.
Star Wars Visions will officially come to Disney+ in 2021. Unfortunately, that’s as specific as I can get for a release date. Until we get more specific information later from Disney, this is it.
Conclusion
Anime fans rejoice! Star Wars Visions will be the first Star Wars official anime series, and it’s coming to Disney+ in 2021. Enough said. Tune in later for more as we get more info from Disney.
