Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman has died at 43.

A post to his Twitter account confirmed the actor had been battling colon cancer since 2016.

“It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther,” the statement reads in part.

Boseman also appeared in Get On Up, Draft Day, and Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods.

Evidently, Boseman was undergoing various surgeries and chemotherapy while filming Black Panther and his other recent projects.

He had not spoken publicly about his diagnosis.
