Spider-Man 3 had a bit of a tumultuous existence so far. The movie was briefly shelved due to disagreements between Sony and Disney/Marvel. Now it appears that Murphy’s Multiverse and Esquire have found the title of the new film. The new title is Spider-Man: Homesick. This follows the trend of having “home” in the title of the Marvel Spider-Man films. Marvel is notorious for being secretive and tight-lipped about their properties, but this seems like it’s legit.

The Spider-Man venture between Sony and Marvel has new life after a deal was struck for a third film and another appearance in a team-up movie similar to The Avengers. Spider-Man is the most popular character for Marvel. It would make sense to have another movie in the series to tie up the character. While I’d love to see Tom Holland play the character forever, sometimes things need to end. Spider-Man: Homesick would be a perfect ending to the arc for the character in the MCU. While we thought that Robert Downey Jr.’s time in the MCU would end and never end at the same time, it remains to be seen where the MCU goes from here.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the news from Marvel slow to a trickle, but outlets are trying to cover as much as possible in the wake of the pandemic. So this news could be a precursor to some bigger announcements from the movie juggernaut.

We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops.
