Bill and Ted make a totally triumphant return a week earlier. Face the Music now hits VOD and select theaters August 28.
The third film in the Bill & Ted series fell victim to COVID-19 rescheduling. Originally, it was scheduled to hit theaters August 21. With ongoing theater closures, the studio opted to shift the release to September. Now, it’s been bumped back up to the end of August.
1989’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure introduced us to high school best friends Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves). In Excellent Adventure, the guys have to travel through time to learn about history. If they flunk the class, they’ll be separated and their band Wyld Stallyns will never make the music needed to turn the future into Utopia.
In Bill & Ted Face the Music, the Wyld Stallyns have yet to fulfill their rock and roll destiny. With the help of their teenage daughters – and yes, more time travel – they seek out the song that will bring harmony to the universe.
Behind-the-scenes of Bill & Ted
Winter and Reeves are reprising their roles for the new film. This time their daughters Thea (Samara Weaving) and Billie (Brigette Lundy-Paine) join them.
Before the debut, Orion Pictures released a new behind-the-scenes look at the film. In the featurette, the cast and creators compare the on-set relationship of Winter and Reeves to that of Weaving and Lundy-Paine. Check it out below:
Apparently, Winter and Reeves nabbed their original Bill & Ted roles because they formed an instant friendship on set back in the ‘80s. Weaving and Lundy-Paine similarly connected right away.
