Darth Maul is one of the biggest reasons why people can still point to The Phantom Menace as being watchable. He’s a part of one of the greatest lightsaber duels on film. The character also made a surprise appearance at the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story. That appearance has driven lots of speculation about where his place in the seemingly new Disney+ Star Wars Universe. With multiple shows coming that take place at a logical spot for him to show up, he could be seen anywhere. TheDirect has a report that he’s going to show up in multiple Disney+ shows.

There are tons of various properties that are going on Disney+. With Star Wars being a global product that has many different avenues to entertainment it makes sense. The Mandalorian kicked open the door to long-form storytelling for the franchise. With the Obi-Wan show, Cassian Andor, The Mandalorian, and Leslye Headland‘s untitled show all coming to the service sometime in the next couple years, the future is bright.

So this news isn’t a surprise, but it also is a rumor that hasn’t been confirmed by LucasFilm. Which means, as of right now, you can treat it like that, until we see it. They’re also reporting that Emilia Clarke will return to the role of Qi’ra in a Darth Maul centric series.

Who’s Going To Play Darth Maul?

Would Sam Witwer do the voice of Maul like he did in Rebels? Would it be Ray Park reprising his role from The Phantom Menace? If The Mandalorian is any indication, they don’t want to have one person play the character and one person do the voice. Ray Park didn’t have that many lines in The Phantom Menace. Witwer was fantastic capturing the anger, rage, and calculated vengeance of Maul. It could be someone completely different, but that would likely piss people off more than anything. So it should be down to those two, but who knows at this point.

What do you think of this rumor? Could Maul show up in all of these new shows? Would you want to see him come back? Let us know in the comments or on Facebook at Star Wars Fanatics.
