Jason Momoa is apparently going to voice Frosty the Snowman in the new live-action adaptation from Warner Bros. & Stampede. Did any of you expect this?

Jason Momoa will always be Ronon Dex in my mind.
I will always remember him as a gun-toting mercenary travelling through a Stargate.

Frosty the Snow-Warrior?!

Jason Momoa’s most famous role is playing the lead role of Arthur Curry, aka. Aquaman, in the titular movie. He’s also pretty famous for playing Ronon Dex from Stargate Atlantis. In both media though, he’s a gruff tough guy with a menacing image and who likes to beat people up. We’ve established that, right?

Tough guy with stabbity, check.
Jason Momoa in leather.
Tough guy with a blaster, also check.
Jason Momoa in snow?!
Snowman with a corncob pipe, check?!

So how does Jason Momoa go from those roles, to playing a singing and dancing snowman? In truth, I haven’t a clue. According to JoBlo.com, the upcoming Frosty the Snowman movie will be a hybrid CGI/live action movie starring Jason Momoa as Frosty. And apparently, according to the directors behind Frosty, he’s the perfect man for the role.

“From his role as a fearsome count in a land of ice and fire to the oceanic success we all had with Aquaman, it felt only right to realize Jason this time out of snow.”

Jon Berg

“We know Jason as a true human being filled with love, compassion, and a deep connection to ohana… all of which is the living spirit of Xmas and Frosty.”

Greg Silverman

Huh, apparently, Momoa’s tough guy persona is just that: an act. The guy is a really great actor if he can pull this off. I’m just imagining Momoa singing the Frosty the Snowman song, and it’s just hilarious. Heck, just imagining him playing an idiot snowman just boggles the mind.

Frosty the Snow-Warrior! He slays all night, but melts in the light of day.

Conclusion

Jason Momoa (AKA: Aquaman and Ronon Dex) is going to play an animate snowman with snow for brains. Well, this should be interesting. At the very least, it’ll be worth a laugh when we finally hear him sing “Frosty the Snowman”.
