Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE Championship Match)
This one I didn’t want to write out everything going on in the match. I wanted to see if this would be different than most of the Lesnar matches. It wouldn’t be. This was the one match of the entire weekend that was very clearly affected by the lack of fans. The moment of McIntrye kicking out at one from the first F5 would have been elevated by a reaction. Drew’s moment isn’t taken away from him though. He’s finally won the WWE Championship that has eluded him.
It wasn’t anything that changed the formula of Lesnar’s recent matches where he loses. Drew is the most imposing figure that he’s faced. That’s not to take away from Roman Reigns. Hopefully now WWE can give Brock some space to have the matches that we want to see without his stranglehold on a title.
It really sucks for Drew because there’s not much I can say about his big moment. It wasn’t a great match, but it wasn’t a trainwreck in length like the Goldberg match yesterday. We saw two of the most deserving superstars in WWE win championship gold in short, stunted, matches. It feels like they could have ended the day with something other than this. They just didn’t have a match to do so on Wrestlemania day two.

Wrestlemania Roundup And Overall Grade
This Wrestlemania was filled with lots of memorable moments. There were some matches that probably didn’t need to be on the card. The only truly putrid match was Goldberg vs. Braun Strowman. That wasn’t even a match. Due to outside circumstances, we’ll probably remember this Wrestlemania forever. Day one had better matches and moments at it’s high point, but day two had better overall matches. Wrestlemania, hopefully, will be back to normal next year in Los Angeles.
This event was much more fun to watch in the two day format. Hopefully WWE takes some notes and figures out a way to make Wrestlemania two days going forward. Besides the Edge-Orton match being an emotional marathon, all the matches felt like the proper length. So if you leave this show unsatisfied, I would probably ask you why. For the circumstances, it was a show and Wrestlemania that I’ll remember forever. It doesn’t reach the heights of previous events, but we were never asking this specific Mania to do that. So thank you to the WWE and the performers that made this event possible.
Overall Wrestlemania Grade: 8/10
