Texas Gets Insane

As always, races can get insane. And today’s iRacing virtual race is definitely no exception. 5 separate crashes occurred throughout the entire race, and it was a fun race.

On Lap 27, our first caution happened, caused by Michael McDowell bumping into Christopher Bell.

Not long after the lap 27 crash, we got the 2nd crash on Lap 40. This one was caused by Xfinity Series Driver Anthony Alfredo:

If you watch this crash you see him skid across the grass followed by crashing into the wall.

Lap 109 saw Daniel Suarez crash into the wall. 6 laps later on Lap 115, Clint Bowyer crashed into 4 other cars.

One final crash happened on Lap 117, between Ryan Preece and pole-sitter William Byron.

Timmy Hill Wins!

Thanks to the crash on Lap 117, the race want into overtime. And thanks to overtime happening, Gander RV Truck Series racer Timmy Hill won the race.

Hill then gave an after-race interview to the NASCAR On Fox commentating team:

This for right now the future of racing. But NASCAR should think about doing something like this for the off-season, just to let the drivers stay on top of their racing talent.

And if you want to catch these races, next Sunday, April 5th, it’s short track racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. You can catch next Sunday’s race at 1 PM EST on Fox, Fox Sports 1, and the Fox Sports App. And you catch the Bristol Qualifying at 10:55 AM EST on eNASCAR.com/live.
