Iron Man VR

Without any major Marvel movies at SDCC this year, gaming is stepping up to fill the space in our souls and on the Hall H stage with a newly announced Marvel Games Panel, set to land on Thursday at 1:30pm.  The House of Ideas (Games Division) has also announced various and plentiful events, signings, and challenges. Among them? Iron Man VR.

Fist, the panel- as the description reads, “Marvel Games, Hall H, 1:30 PM. Get an inside look at the latest and greatest from Marvel Games! Attendees will see exciting new content from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, Marvel’s Iron Man VR, and Marvel’s Avengers, with many unannounced surprises and panel exclusives. Host Greg Miller (of KindaFunny.com) will be joined by Bill Rosemann (VP & Creative Director, Marvel Games) and other special guests from titles throughout the Marvel Games family!”

Let’s break this down by game, shall we?

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is set to drop on the Nintendo Switch the same weekend as San Diego Comic Con, so this game is set to have the biggest push at SDCC with demos and discussions at both the Marvel Entertainment Booth (#2329) and the Nintendo of America Booth (*235).

For the newest incarnation of this game in 10 years, this RPG will have Nore Davis, Josh Saleh and special guests on a Let’s Play Live with MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order on Saturday, July 20 – 4:30 – 5:00 PM.

The game boasts over 30 playable Marvel Heroes going against Thanos and his Black Order. The heroes will come from all corners of the Marvel Comic’s universe; Avengers, X-Men, Spider-verse, and the Fantastic Four- finally giving fans the crossover we’ve all been dreaming of for the big screen.

There will be a signing for the game on Friday from 1:45 – 2:15 PM with the creative and production talent, including Marc Sumerak (Story and Script Writer) and more.

Iron Man VR

Iron Man VR was first teased at PlayStation’s State of Play in May, but while we got to see a lot, much of the game, including a release date, was withheld- All eyes are on the panel for the drop-date to be announced. The game is made by Camouflaj and is exclusive to the Playstation VR.  The idea is you suit up as Iron Man and… Oh, come on… it’s Iron Man VR, the title pretty much says everything you need to know and dreamed of!!!

Marvel’s Iron Man VR Signing is Friday, July 19 – 11:15 – 11:45 AM with Ryan Payton (Creative Director, Camouflaj), Bill Rosemann (VP & Creative Director, Marvel Games), Tim Tsang (Art Director, Marvel Games), and legendary Marvel illustrator and costume designer Adi Granov!

Friday, July 19 – 12:00 – 12:30 PM will see the Let’s Play Live with Marvel’s Iron Man VR with Josh Saleh, Nore Davis, and  Ryan Payton (Creative Director, Camouflaj).

Marvel’s Avengers

Finally, at least announced, is Square-Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers.  Set for a May 15, 2020 release on both PS4 and Xboxone, we saw a good chunk of this at E3, but it left us wanting so much more. At the Square Enix Booth (#3829), this game will have a signing on Thursday, July 18 – 5:00 – 5:45 PM with voice actors Nolan North (Iron Man), Troy Baker (Bruce Banner), Laura Bailey (Black Widow), Jeff Schine (Captain America), and Travis Willingham (Thor), as well as Shaun Escayg (Creative Director, Crystal Dynamics), & Bill Rosemann (VP & Creative Director, Marvel Games)

Marvel Contest of Champions

Are people still playing this!?I guess so cause on Thursday. July 18 – 4:00 – 4:30 PM the Marvel stage will host a major announcement for the game.

The only thing that could possibly top all this would be a sliver of information from the PS4’s next Spiderman game.  Will we get that? Probably not, but a Marvel gamer can dream, can’t they?
