We are just 3 weeks out from Disneyland opening Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to the public. The land has been dubbed the biggest expansion for the Disney Parks. And a lot of news about this new area has been released in that last few months.

We had the ride announcements and the news of John Williams scoring the area back in November during D23’s Destination D event in Walt Disney World. At the end of February, a ton of news about the area had gotten released.

At the beginning of March, concept art images for places like The Creature Stall, Docking Bay 7 Food And Cargo, and Resistance Cargo was released. Then, trademarking news for the names for the wines, beers, and ciders at Galaxy’s Edge.

And then at Star Wars Celebration, the Galaxy’s Edge panel gave us some new information for the area. So all of this information has given fans a pretty decent idea as to what to expect from the new area.

Latest Announcements

Now, last month, CNN Business went to the new area to get a sneak peek. And they also talked to Scott Trowbridge from Walt Disney Imagineering all about the new area.

Something Trowbridge did mention, “Events that happen here in Black Spire Outpost are true in the world of Star Wars. They’re not isolated from the rest of Star Wars storytelling. The things that happen here are true throughout this entire kind of canon of Star Wars storytelling.”

There have been rumors that the land’s story will be taking after The Last Jedi and just before The Rise Of Skywalker. Those have been confirmed. It’s going to be awesome to see more stories added to the Star Wars canon.

With Galaxy’s Edge, the land itself will be it’s own story. And the guests will get to create their own story within the land.

Starting May 31, 2019, explore an all-new Star Wars land inside Disneyland Park! This is the chance to live your Star Wars story—and discover who you truly are in a galaxy far, far away…

May the Force be with you!
