If there’s one panel I’m excited for at next months Star Wars Celebration, it’s hands down The Mandalorian. We know it’s the first live action Star Wars series premiering on the Disney+ streaming service and this awesome synopsis, “after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

Pedro Pascal will play “The Mandalorian”, along with him will be Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, and …Werner Herzog?! Yes you read right! Other than the title character not much is known on who will play who, but Herzog gave a “small” hint in a recent interview.

While promoting his latest film Meeting Gorbachev, Herzog revealed to IndieWire that he’s indeed playing a villain. Saying, “Now this is not a secret anymore, a small part, real small part, in The Mandalorian, the Star Wars sequel or whatever you call it. I like to do it because I know I’m good on screen, but only if I have to play a real villain.”

When The Mandalorian has its panel in a couple weeks at Star Wars Celebration, hopefully characters will finally be revealed and we can get an idea of what to expect. Either way this series keeps getting better and better every week. All we need is Nic Cage or Christopher Walken to make cameos and our heads will explode.
