It was recently announced that Superman‘s arch nemesis Lex Luthor will be making his Arrowverse debut in this season of Supergirl. Fans have been speculating and fan casting who they believe should be cast as the maniacal villain, and now we have official confirmation.
Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter we now know that Emmy winning Jon Cryer has been cast as Lex Luthor in the fourth season of Supergirl.
You will most likely know Cryer from the hit comedy show Two And A Half Men. Since being in that show, he has managed to secure himself a win at the Emmy’s, therefore Cryer is considered a pretty big get for any TV Series.
Cryer will have a recurring role in Season 4 of Supergirl and will make his long awaited debut in the 15th episode of the season (expected to air sometime in 2019).
Interestingly enough, Cryer has actually dipped his toes into the Luthor family in the past. In the 1987 film Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, he played Lenny Luthor, the nephew of Lex Luthor.
Lex has only ever been name dropped in the show up until this point either via Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) or his sister Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). So fans of the show have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the character, while many thought we would never see him, it is nice to know that he will definitely be showing up in Season 4.
Are you excited to see Lex Luthor on Supergirl?
