Euphoria actor Angus Cloud has sadly passed away at 25. The actor, best known for playing Fezco in the HBO drama, passed away in his Oklahoma home Monday morning.
In an emotional statement released today, his family announced: “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
The statement provided to TMZ revealed Cloud’s father had recently passed away and the actor was struggling with his death. The statement continued: “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”
Oakland PD responded to a 911 call made on Monday morning by Angus’ mother. According to TMZ, she reported a “possible overdose,” and said Angus did not have a pulse. The official statement released by his family also explained that “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
A source close to the family explained to TMZ that Angus had been battling severe suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland. He had been in Europe laying his father to rest. He had recently been staying with his family in Oklahoma, whilst trying to overcome his grief.
Cloud’s family closes their statement with these poignant words: “We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”
Angus Cloud was best known for playing Fezco, the sometimes drug dealer and confidante for Zendaya’s character, Rue Bennett. He appeared in movies The Line and North Hollywood. He also had cameos in music videos for the likes of Becky G and Karol G.
Cloud had recently been cast opposite Melissa Barrera and Dan Stevens in a yet untitled horror movie from Scream 6 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
