It’s not a coincidence that Horror movies save the box office every year. Studios like A24 and Universal all make their money on these lower budget films. One of those films that’s also getting a huge critical reception is Talk To Me. Now, A24 has already greenlit a sequel to the film with directors Danny and Michael Philipou returning and Danny writing the film with Bill Hinzman.
Talk To Me is already the second-highest box office opening for A24 ever and was a breakout pick from the Sundance Film Festival. It was produced by Causeway Films, Samantha Jennings, and Kristina Ceyton. It joins other A24 hits like X, Pearl, and the upcoming MaXXXine, which stars Mia Goth, Halsey, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.
Here’s the official synopsis from A24:
When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces.
Talk To Me is the debut feature of directors Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou. The Australian twins are known for their YouTube channel, RackaRacka. Danny Philippou also co-wrote the script for the film with Bill Hinzman. The film stars Sophie Wilde, Miranda Otto, Alexandra Jensen, Joe Bird, Otis Dhanji, Zoe Terakes, and Chris Alosi.
