Coyote vs. Acme might get sold to the highest bidder. A new report from Deadline lays out how Warner Bros. is moving to sell the shelved film. Coyote vs. Acme became a massive discussion point about movie studios burying content during the past few years. The completed film starred Lana Condor, Will Forte and John Cena alongside the Looney Tunes.

Ketchup Entertainment is currently in pole position to secure the rights to Coyote vs. Acme from Warner Bros for around $50 million dollars. The current success of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie might have a lot to do with that. (Ketchup is the company that saved the other animated project too!)

Coyote vs. Acme star Wil E. Coyote.

Nothing is written in stone at the time of writing. Deadline reports that Coyote vs. Acme could release in 2026 if the deal gets done. Warner Bros. was in a cost-cutting mode two years ago when they decided to shelve the film. In the current age nothing really dies though.

How Do The Creatives Behind Coyote vs. Acme Feel?

Last year, Will Forte penned an open and emotional letter about his experience working on Coyote vs. Acme. The actor praised the workers and lamented some of the business of Hollywood in his note to the cast and crew. Check out his final point down below.

“Look, when it comes to Hollywood business stuff, I don’t know shit about shit. Even when a movie test very well (like ours), there’s no guarantee that it’s going to be a hit,” the actor explained. “And at the end of the day, the people who paid for this movie can obviously do whatever they want with it. It doesn’t mean I have to like it (I fucking hate it). Or agree with it. And it does it mean that this movies anything less than magnificent.”

Forte adds, “You would be so proud of it – – a movie that should be seen, but won’t. Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows and every frame. That’s all folks, Will Forte.”
