Disney dropped a new trailer for Elio! The new Pixar film comes out on June 20 and the studio’s latest clip sees Elio off on an adventure. Yonas Kibreab plays the 11-year-old alien abductee. Zoe Saldana plays his aunt in the animated feature.
Elio addresses questions of belonging and finding our place in the universe. The young boy at the heart of this story is reaching out for something more. Elio gets a little bit more than he bargained for when it comes to the cosmos. A journey toward personal discovery is rarely a straight line. But, with new friends, you can make your own way. “For centuries, people have called out to the universe looking for answers—in Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film “Elio,” the universe calls back! The cosmic misadventure introduces Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession. So, when he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, Elio’s all in for the epic undertaking. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.”
