Gachiakuta will be a rather dark shonen action anime from director Fumihiko Suganuma and studio Bones Film (My Hero Academia; Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood). There’s really no two ways about it with even just the barest glimpse of the manga of the same name by Kei Urana. The story is a very dark fantasy about a main character living in extreme poverty in the land of the wealthy. Then, even that life is taken from him when he’s framed for a murder and tossed into a giant garbage pit.

Thus, you can understand just why it is Crunchyroll would be so eager to acquire Gachiakuta for their streaming platform. Apparently, they plan to stream the anime adaptation of that manga starting sometime in July 2025. As you might expect, you can watch it only on Crunchyroll on that date worldwide, save for Belarus, Russia, and Asia, excluding India. Alas, there’s no link to the anime’s show page since it hasn’t made its debut yet. We will have to wait for that at a later date.

Gachiakuta NA Rudo character visual
A very angry young man indeed here.

That’s not all, folks! Crunchyroll is also giving us a brand new official trailer for Gachiakuta to go with that announcement. You can watch that trailer on YouTube, or just below:

Gachiakuta Premiering on Crunchyroll in July 2025

You can already tell just from the art style that this is going to be a dark anime.

Just from that trailer alone, you can already tell that we’re in for a dark fantasy story with Gachiakuta. Maybe not quite as dark as 86, but pretty close. At the very least, we can certainly expect quite a bit of blood and body parts to fly as Rudo attempts to get revenge on the society that wronged him.
