28 Days Later is one of the most famous zombie horror films in the world. Even though director Danny Boyle doesn’t consider it to be a zombie film, oddly enough, it still resulted in a revitalization of the entire zombie horror genre when it came out all the way back in November 1, 2002. And as you might’ve noticed, it also resulted in a highly successful film series that continued with 28 Weeks Later back in 2007, but with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo as the director instead of Boyle.
Since then though, there has been nothing official about the franchise. Not a peep. As though the Rage virus has gone dormant after so long without a host. As you can tell by the title of this article though, that has come to an end. Now, 28 Years Later gets an official confirmation with a just as official trailer. Don’t believe me? 28 Years Later: Official Trailer Details
Sony Pictures Entertainment is proud to finally announce the upcoming release of 28 Years Later with an official trailer on YouTube. This will be the long-awaited sequel to 28 Weeks Later, which itself is the sequel to 28 Days Later. This time though, Danny Boyle is back to direct this trequel, with Alex Garland also returning to write the screenplay.
Fortunately, it won’t be that long until we get to see if this trequel is as good as the first film. The very end of the trailer reveals that 28 Years Later will make its theatrical debut on June 20, 2025. It’s still a bit of a wait, but at least we can see the end of the zombie-filled road here. Alas, tickets are not yet on sale. We will just have to wait for Fandango to give us that info at a later date.
