Netflix’s latest addition to their Holiday Collection, Our Little Secret, introduces us to exes Avery and Logan. The two former lovers find themselves unexpectedly reunited. So, a decade after their tumultuous breakup, they end up sharing a house for Christmas—thanks to their new relationships with siblings.
As far as Holiday Movie premises, this is hilarious and almost believable. Is there anyone out there who wouldn’t do a deep dive into their boyfriend’s family before the Holidays? So, suspend your disbelief a little and enjoy the Holiday Magic.
OUR LITTLE SECRET IS A GREAT TIME!
When it comes to made-for-TV Christmas movies, many of them tend to blend into one another, offering predictable plots and familiar tropes that make them feel interchangeable across various networks and streaming platforms. However, Our Little Secret sets itself apart from the pack, giving viewers a story that feels both new, fun, and worthy of a theatrical release.
Lindsay Lohan is undeniably making her mark again, showing she’s here to stay. I love her as a leading lady in romantic comedies like this and can’t wait to see her in more. Playing her opposite is Pretty Little Liars, Ian Harding. Harding brings an undeniable charm to his character, effortlessly sparking chemistry and clever banter with Lohan. Their interactions are filled with warmth and humor, making every scene they share a delight to watch.
Kristin Chenoweth (Holidate) plays the ultimate overbearing mother in Our Little Secret. She can cut you with just a look and a vicious smile. The rest of the family is filled out by other comedic heavyweights, Scrubs Judy Reyes, The Ladies Man Tim Meadows, as well as Scandals Dan Bucatinsky. Then there’s Comedian Jon Rudnitsky, Katie Baker, and Jake Brennan play the chaotic siblings just trying to get through the Holiday.
While there are a lot of storylines crisscrossing throughout Our Little Secret it never felt muddled. The story ends up feeling like a less sad, less messy version of The Family Stone.
I wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking for a feel-good holiday movie to watch Our Little Secret. You can check it out on Netflix starting November 27.
