Andor‘s season 2 release date has been revealed. The Disney+ Star Wars show is a prequel to Rogue One that stars Diego Luna reprising his role from the first season and that movie. The cast also includes Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Stellan Skarsgard, and Fiona Shaw. Andor season 2 will be the final season of the show and follows the timeline all the way up to the opening of Rogue One.
The Disney+ app has been updated to show that the release date for the upcoming season is April 22nd, 2025. This comes more than two years after the season 1 finale, which was November 23rd, 2022. That date is significant because it’s also just after the close of Star Wars Celebration from April 18th to April 20th, 2025.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a huge Star Wars series came out around or just after Star Wars Celebration. At the last event, they premiered Obi-Wan Kenobi to major acclaim. There’s been new details about Andor season 2 at D23 Brazil this weekend including some notes on the timeline. Every three episodes, a year passes in Cassian’s life. The season takes place over the course of 4 years. They also showed a new teaser trailer to the audience at the event that showcased the Rebellion and their war against the Empire over the course of the season.

This new release date and the details of the season are quite exciting. It shows that Disney and Lucasfilm are getting behind the show in a massive way. If it really is the main event or showcase of Star Wars Celebration, that means good things. The first season was one of the best offerings that Disney+ has ever had. It has a glowing critical and fan reception with plenty of people clamoring for more Andor. It was also nominated for eight Emmy awards and a Golden Globe.
Overall, we’re definitely hyped for Andor to release on April 22nd, 2025.
