Happy Gilmore 2 is one of the most surprising of these recent rash of sequels to old films. No one ever expected a movie about a hockey player turned golfer to be popular enough to get a sequel…except for possibly golfers. Apparently, this sports comedy film directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler as the titular golf player has a bit of a cult following among the golf community.

It’s why that community is very eager for any news about Happy Gilmore 2. Especially when that news is about new cast members for the movie, including this new one. By any chance, have any of you ever heard of Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio? His stage name might be more familiar to you as Bad Bunny.

Happy Gilmore 2: Bad Bunny Casting Details

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and record producer Bad Bunny is joining the ever-growing cast for Happy Gilmore 2. Alas, we have no idea who he will be playing in the sequel. Fortunately though, it’s not his first time acting. He has previously acted in action films F9 and Bullet Train. However, he has also acted in the biographical wrestling drama film Cassandro. Admittedly, this tells us very little about what Bad Bunny’s role in this sequel will be. We can only wait for that info to arrive later.

Fortunately, we do still know the other members of the cast of this sequel aside from Bad Bunny. At least, for the moment. Happy Gilmore 2 will still feature Adam Sandler reprising his previous starring role as Happy Gilmore. Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will also reprise their roles as Virginia Venit (Gilmore’s love interest) and Shooter McGavin (the opposite of Gilmore’s love interest) respectively. And alas, that’s it as far as casting for this film goes. We’ll have to await more casting details in the future.

Tune back in to THS to find out more about the ever-growing cast of Happy Gilmore 2 when we do.
