Four kids. One mother away on a distant wellness retreat. And one deceased babysitter. Get ready for a new take on the cult classic comedy Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.

The BET+ original film officially hits theaters in April. But you can get a closer look now with the latest trailer. Check it out below:

Here’s the official synopsis of Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead:

Seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell (Simone Joy Jones) can’t wait to spend the summer living it up with her friends in Spain before heading to Howard University in the fall. But when her mom (Ms. Pat) decides to head to a much-needed wellness retreat in Thailand, Tanya is forced to stay home with her three siblings instead. Following the unexpected death of their elderly babysitter (June Squibb), Tanya gets a job working for the confident and ambitious Rose (Nicole Richie). Juggling work, family, and a complicated romance, Tanya faces the responsibility of adulthood at the cost of her summer of freedom.

The comedy feature reimagines the 1991 flick starring Christina Applegate. Notably, the 90s flick nabbed a PG-13 rating, whereas this new version has been rated R. So, it will be interesting to see how this upcoming movie escalates things from the original.

Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead comes from executive producer Tyra Banks, Emmy-nominated writer Chuck Hayward, and director Wade Allain-Marcus.

Iconic Events Releasing will premiere the film in theaters April 12.
