The WWE Saudi Arabian events are full of controversy and Super ShowDown was no different. However, WWE superstar, Mustafa Ali, wanted to make some good out of the event.
Ali decided to donate his earnings from Super ShowDown to a charity. The lucky charity is called Charity: Water. Their goal is to provide clean drinking water to all the peoples of the world.
Mustafa Ali Makes The Best Out Of A Controversial Event
They state that 1 out of every 10 people worldwide do not have access to clean water. Many have to walk hours each day to collect water. However, much of the water has bacteria and diseases. Water is a universal necessity and they aim to provide clean water to everyone. That’s where Mustafa Ali comes in.
The WWE has not disclosed how much Ali will be paid from the event. All indications, however, tell us the superstars get paid well from the event. Many superstars refused to attend the event including Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, Aleister Black, Sami Zayn and AJ Styles. These are some of the top guys in the company so I’d imagine WWE would have some incentive for guys to go to Saudi Arabia for example extra money.
Mustafa Ali… Who?
Mustafa Ali was involved in the 50-man Battle Royal match. He was able to make it to the final five, but was eliminated. The winner of the Battle Royal was Saudi born Manoor. At least WWE did something to make the fans happy.
We first met Ali as part of the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament. However, once Ali joined 205 Live the WWE Universe became big fans of Ali. He eventually made his way onto Smackdown Live and into the WWE World Title picture and was set to enter the Elimination Chamber match. However, he was forced to pull out due to an injury and was replaced with Kofi Kingston.
Mustafa Ali: Good Dude And An Inspiration
Going to the Super ShowDown event must have been a hard decision to make for Ali because he is always involved in social issues. However, he made the best out of a bad situation and used his talents and earnings to help people. Ali sounds like a pretty honorable person in my book.
Ali is a great role model to young fans and to all fans. Taking a stand against something doesn’t always have to mean opposition. Sometimes you can rebel from within like Ali did. I hope more superstars take his lead and donate their earnings to a charity as well.
If you would also like to donate to the same charity as Ali, here is the link. I’m sure they would appreciate all the donations they can get.
