NEON announced today that Michael Mann’s Ferrari will release on digital purchase and rental on January 23rd, and it’ll be heading home on Blu-ray and DVD starting March 12th. If you missed out on Ferrari in theaters, this is the perfect way to catch the film. Here’s a synopsis.
Ferrari is set in the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi. Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.
The home release comes on the heels of Ferrari’s holiday season theatrical run in the US and successful international launch, garnering significant critical acclaim for Mann’s direction, and Driver and Cruz’s performances.
The Blu-Ray and DVD release of the film will feature behind-the-scenes extras, including “The Mille Miglia” and “Building Perfection” which explores the historic race and cars behind the film, as well as in-depth interviews with the award-winning cast and crew.
