Between man-child backlash and social media harassment, you’d think Daisy Ridley would want nothing to do with Star Wars. However, at the Sundance Film Festival, she told IMDB about a possible return.
I mean, I’m open to a phone call. I’m looking for employment!
Ridley first joined Star Wars in The Force Awakens as Rey. She was the heroine of the entire sequel trilogy, a future Jedi who was left alone on a planet by her parents. As the sequel trilogy went on, we learned more about her, and she finally became a Jedi in The Rise Of Skywalker.
Disney+ has seen plenty of Star Wars spin-off shows like Andor, The Book of Boba Fett, The Bad Batch, and The Mandalorian. However, we have yet to see material from the sequel trilogy. Damon Lindelof‘s upcoming Star Wars film is supposed to be set after the sequel trilogy, so Rey could always make an appearance there if it fits.
Additionally, Ridley spoke about what Rey scene she was most proud of.
The thing that springs to mind is in Star Wars: The Force Awakens…with Harrison Ford, the little-known actor. (She joked) He gave me the gun and I say something like, ‘I can take care of myself.’ I was so nervous that when I was doing it I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s Harrison Ford.’ So I was proud that I got through the thing and seemed fairly casual.
Ridley is currently on a press tour for the film Sometimes I Think About Dying. A romantic comedy/drama that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend.
