Showtime’s hit Yellowjackets returns for its second season this spring. And based on this first teaser, it looks like the show will keep bringing the dark twists and turns that kept you on the edge of your seat in season 1. 

One thing is clear: they brought the darkness back with them.

The clip features the first appearance of Elijah Wood in the series. He’s also got a pretty astute take on the situation already.

“Kidnapping, cults, death … your friendships are a little more complicated than most,” he says in the trailer.

Yellowjackets tells the story of a high school girls soccer team who survive a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. The original cast includes Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, and Juliette Lewis. Season 2 will introduce Wood, and also feature Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Kevin Alves. 

The first season of Yellowjackets scored seven Emmy nominations. It also averaged over 5 million weekly viewers, making it the second most streamed series in Showtime history.

Season 2 of Yellowjackets premieres March 24 on streaming and on demand for Showtime subscribers. It will air on cable March 26 at 9pm.
