Well, it looks like Star Trek: Picard is going to end its third and final season on a dark and creepy note. At least, according to that new teaser trailer we got from NYCC 2022, which depicts an even more unsettling tone than usual. Don’t believe me? Then why don’t you check out that teaser trailer for yourself, and also get the shivers just in time for Halloween?
A Dark and Creepy End for Jean-Luc Picard?
Paramount Plus posted this new teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard season 3 on YouTube, which originally made its debut at NYCC 2022. As you can see, this teaser sets a pretty dark and creepy tone for this final season of the show. Jean-Luc Picard gets a new…female(?) adversary who not only wants to see him dead, but also wants to destroy everything and everyone he cares about. Including the entire Federation, apparently. It seems whoever this new adversary is, they have a serious grudge against him.
Fortunately though, Jean-Luc Picard isn’t alone in Star Trek: Picard season 3. Not only does he have the USS Enterprise back, but he even has a bunch of his old crew back. We see Jonathan Frakes return as William Riker, as well as a mention of LaForge, which means LeVar Burton might be returning too. We also see Michael Dorn returning as Worf, who seems to have gained a newfound pacifistic attitude on life. How long that will last is something we’ll have to see for ourselves, though I doubt it will last. Maybe the Klingon form of pacifism is a martial one? I suppose that’s what we’ll have to see when season 3 makes its debut.
Unfortunately, that will still take a while. The end of the teaser trailer revealed that Star Trek: Picard season 3 will premiere on Thursday, February 16, 2023. This premiere will not only be exclusive to the US, but also exclusive to Paramount+. Which is fair considering that all the previous season have also been exclusive to Paramount+, so that’s where you’ll need to go if you want to watch this third and final season. Of course, that means shelling out cash for a paid Paramount+ subscription. Considering the praise critics are heaping on this show though, it might be worth the hit to your wallet.
