Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — Prologue is the OVA prequel to the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, which is the 15th and the latest entry in the mainline Gundam military sci-fi mecha anime series. Sunrise (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon), AKA: Bandai Namco Filmworks, is the animation studio behind it, as they have been for all previous Gundam series. Hiroshi Kobayashi is the director of this OVA, and also for the upcoming anime. Naohiro Ogata is the producer for both, with Ichiro Okouchi also writing for both, and Takashi Ohmama composes the music for both as well.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — Prologue originally premiered in Japan on July 14, 2022. The actual anime will premiere sometime in October 2022. Since that’s only a month away as of this writing, we’ll likely get a more specific release date soon. Tune back to THS to find that out when we do.
