It looks like Anime Expo 2022 has some good news for all of you Kamen Rider fans out there. What else do you call a brand new comic book series for this tokusatsu?
A Brand New Kamen Rider Comic!
Anime Expo 2022 is announcing a new comic book series in the form of Kamen Rider Zero-One. This is apparently a comic book based on the live action tokusatsu TV series of the same name currently airing on Shout! Factory. Along with that announcement, we also have a bit of information on its creators. Brandon Easton (Transformers, Superman, Mister Miracle) is the writer, with Hendry Prasetya (Power Rangers, Aquaman) as the artist.
The Kamen Rider Zero-One comic will feature Titan Comics and Stonebot Comics as the publishers. As for the release date for this comic book? Apparently, this comic will see release sometime in Fall 2022. Unfortunately, we don’t have a more specific release date than that. Tune in later to see if they narrow down that release window as we get closer to it.
Kamen Rider Zero-One: Character Art
That’s not all, folks. People who attended Anime Expo 2022 and saw the panel for this comic book in person also got a sneak peek at some of the character designs for Kamen Rider Zero-One by Hendry Prasetya. The art above depicts the titular hero himself, while the art below depicts the brand new villain specifically made for the comic book. How can you tell they’re a villain? Well, not only by their costume, but also by their name: Ragnarok. With such an apocalyptic name, it’s not hard to tell that they’re supposed to be the bad guy here.
However, they stress multiple times that these character designs for Kamen Rider Zero-One are not final artwork. Thus, parts of the design might very well change from this current look in the final product. It’s something you might want to keep in mind should you check out the comic book this Fall, if you feel like you’re in a complaining mood, that is.
