Everyone, meet your new Lady Margot. It looks like Léa Seydoux will join Dune: Part Two.
Deadline revealed today Seydoux is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel. She joins returning Dune cast members Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, and Josh Brolin. Other actors previously announced for Dune: Part Two include Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Austin Butler.
The Dune films adapt the science fiction novels by Frank Herbert. In Herbert’s novels, Lady Margot is a long-time servant of the Sisterhood.
Villeneuve’s original Dune film grossed over $400 million at the box office worldwide (despite the pandemic and a day-and-date release on HBO Max). It also scored a total of 10 Academy Award nominations, ultimately bringing home five awards. The film’s success quickly led Warner Bros. to greenlight a sequel.
Seydoux recently appeared in the David Cronenberg pic Crimes of the Future, as well as Mia Hansen Love’s One Fine Morning. Her other credits include Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, as well as the James Bond pic No Time To Die.
Dune: Part Two will see Villeneuve return to write, direct, and produce. You can stream the first film on HBO Max now.
