Peacock’s upcoming Mrs. Davis series is mostly keeping us in the dark when it comes to specifics about the show. But today we have one more little bit of information: a new co-star.
Jake McDorman will join the series. McDorman will reportedly play lead Betty Gilpin’s rebellious ex. His character has a personal vendetta against the Algorithm. (…Whatever that means.)
Peacock describes Mrs. Davis as “an exploration of faith versus technology” and “an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.” The streamer previously announced Emmy-nominee Gilpin would play the show’s lead, a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence.
The series comes from Tara Hernandez (Young Sheldon, The Big Bang Theory) and Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost). Gilpin previously worked with Lindelof on the feature thriller The Hunt; McDorman appeared in his feature Watchmen.
The creative team also includes Emmy Award-winning director Owen Harris (Black Mirror: San Junipero) will executive produce and direct multiple episodes, including the pilot.
McDorman recently appeared in the Disney+ series The Right Stuff and the Hulu miniseries Dopesick.
Mrs. Davis comes from Warner Bros. Television, where both Hernandez and Lindelof have overall deals.
Peacock has not yet revealed a synopsis or release date for the series, but check back to THS for more updates.
