What’s better than trick-or-treating? Trick-or-treating in the perfect spooky atmosphere!
If you’re in Southern California, you can find those perfect spooky vibes at Heritage Square Museum. The private, gated row of Victorian manors – many of which are rumored to be haunted – will host a special event for Halloween this year, Cemetery Lane.
Cemetery Lane will include 13 trick-or-treating stops to fill up on candy, as well as fun photo ops and interactions with the terrifying townsfolk residing there. You can also grab seasonal souvenirs and extra festive snacks from Cemetery Lane’s limited shopping experience. It’s a great option to have a fun and unique Halloween experience. (Especially if you’re stuck in an apartment building or with very un-spirited neighbors.)
“Living in an apartment setting (code for no trick-or-treaters), for years I’ve wanted to find an eerie old house to rent for Halloween to hand out trick-or-treats. I also fantasized about taking over an entire neighborhood for a spooky block party,” said event producer David Markland. “My dream came true for both when Heritage Square agreed to collaborate with us on this event and now I get to hand out candy from a half dozen actual haunted houses!”
Markland founded Cemetery Lane alongside Claire Dunlap, both of whom produce the annual Midsummer Scream convention in Southern California. Ian Momii (Award-winning technical director for The Nest) also produces the event, which includes decor and effects by Jeff Schiefelbein (owner/producer of Sinister Pointe).
Cemetery Lane is a ticketed event with hourly timed entry and limited capacity to make your Halloween experience as eerie and exclusive as possible. (No jump scares though. This event is spooky fun for all ages.)
The event runs from October 27-31 and includes both daytime and nighttime entry options. You can reserve your tickets now at CemeteryLane.com. Tickets range from $25-30, depending on the day and time selected.
And remember – costumes are highly encouraged!
Ready to get spooky? Make sure you grab your tickets now. With capacity limits in place, only a certain number of people can haunt Cemetery Lane this Halloween!
