James Gunn Wants To Make Guardians Of The Galaxy Spin-Off Disney+ Series Starring Ravagers

The director of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, James Gunn, still has more plans for this series. One of those plans is, according to his own words, a Ravagers spin-off series on Disney+.

James Gunn revealed his nefarious plans on one of Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcasts on August 5, 2021. Gunn apparently really wants to do a Disney+ series starring the Ravagers one of these days. He has apparently been obsessed with that idea ever since the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. Gunn’s exact words on the subject were:

I always thought The Ravagers would be a great show. Whether that was with Sly Stallone’s Ravagers or even more in-depth with just the pirates and what they were doing. I told Kevin Feige that when he first visited the set when we were on the Ravagers ship for Guardians 1, I said we should make a Ravagers show. He said if this movie’s a hit you can do whatever you want. Still, no Ravagers show, so I don’t know what happened.

Ravagers: A Guardians of the Galaxy Spin-Off Series?

Unfortunately, at the moment, these appear to be just ideas. James Gunn currently has no concrete plans to make this Ravagers Disney+ series. The only thing related to this is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he won’t even start filming for that until later in 2021. The film itself won’t launch until May 5, 2023. With this timeline, it’s very like that we won’t see any Ravagers spin-off series for a very long time. Tune in later just in case this changes though.
