Season Two of The Mandalorian was full of surprises. From the appearance of Ahsoka Tano to the return of Boba Fett, each episode had us on the edge of our seats. Of course, Disney saved the biggest surprise for the season finale when Luke Skywalker saved the day and took Grogu to start his Jedi training. Well, now you will get a chance to see this moment on set thanks to Disney+ and the upcoming Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian: Making of the Season 2 Finale. That’s right this August 25th on Disney+ you will get to see an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at “The Mandalorian: Chapter 16 – The Rescue,” and how they digitally de-aged Mark Hamill.
Mark Hamill Returns On Set As Luke Skywalker
In a new trailer showing what is heading our way this month on Disney+, we get a quick look at Mark Hamill holding Grogu standing next to R2-D2 in the season finale of The Mandalorian. This moment not only meant a lot to fans, it meant a lot to Mark Hamill as well. Back in January Hamill had this response to a tweet from Payton Redd, the director of “The Rescue:
“I am so grateful to have been given the unexpected opportunity to revisit my character when he was still a symbol of hope & optimism. Your assured direction & kindness was a crucial element in the experience & means more to me than I can say. #ThankYOU.”
