This sounds familiar… Universal Studios Hollywood has announced it will open for a special food tasting event.
During “Taste of Universal,” people can purchase tickets to enter the theme park and eat there. Rides, shows, and other attractions all remain closed.
Adult tickets start at $44 and include five food picks. Tickets for kids ages 3-9 cost $25 and come with three picks. The event also promises special photo ops and shopping opportunities.
If you’re thinking this plan sounds exactly like the event announced by Disneyland a week ago, it basically is. Granted, the Disney tickets cost more $75 – and only $25 of that actually goes towards food.
But then again… is Universal really known for its food? They have Butterbeer in Harry Potter World, I guess. But that’s the only Universal Studios-specific treat that comes to mind. While you won’t catch me paying $75 for the privilege of wandering around California Adventure, at least Disney is known for having iconic park food.
Universal also seems to hope getting an early start will help them get the jump on Disney. “Taste of Universal” officially opens March 12 – a week before “A Touch of Disney.”
Specifically, these four areas of the park will open to serve food:
- Springfield, U.S.A.
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™
- All New – Minion Cafe
- Hollywood and Dine
You can check out the food available during the special event below.
So, will you grab tickets to “Taste of Universal”? Is there an iconic Universal Studios food I’m missing out on? Let me know in the comments.
Meanwhile, check back to THS for more updates.
