Finally, some art we can all appreciate. Baby Yoda now has an official portrait in London’s National Portrait Gallery.
The Child was immortalized in oil paint along with his adopted father Mando. It’s all part of an entire Star Wars-themed installation at the gallery.
You can check out a timelapse of the portrait painting below:
I love an artistic timelapse, and this look into creating “The Mandalorian and the Child” definitely fits the bill.
The Mandalorian portrait is just one part of the Star Wars installation currently at the National Portrait Gallery. You can also see a ton of your other favorite characters, including:
- Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original trilogy
- Thandie Newton as Val in Solo
- Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso and Riz Ahmed as Bodhi Rook in Rogue One
- Gareth Edwards (Rogue One director)
- Ben Morris (VFX supervisor on The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi)
Plus, the gallery features concept art from Doug Chiang, John Park, and Christian Alzman.
If you’re local to London, you can travel to this galaxy far, far away for free. Your chance to see Baby Yoda in person is limited to this Friday and Saturday (October 30-31), so book your free ticket now.
The rest of us will have to get our Baby Yoda fix the old fashioned way. (Tuning in to Disney+, I mean.) Luckily, the long wait for more of The Mandalorian is nearly over. Season 2 premieres October 30.
