The King of Atlantis will return! Today is DC Fandome, as you know by now, and the panel reserved for the Aquaman franchise has just concluded. The panel featured director James Wan and Ocean Master himself, Patrick Wilson.
The panel consisted of the two discussing different stories and experiences from the production of Aquaman. They told stories of the difficulty filming the “underwater” portions of the first film. This was accompanied with new behind the scenes footage of the actors in harnesses “floating”.
Additionally, James Wan said that he was on the set of The Conjuring 2 when he found out he was directing the film. He wanted Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master from that moment on.
Wan also elaborated on inheriting Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman from Zack Snyder. He said that he specifically wrote and changed aspects of the script to suit Momoa’s portrayal.
Finally, Wan touched upon what to expect from Aquaman 2 in 2022. Wan said that the sequel will be, “more serious and relevant to the modern world” than the first film. He also confirmed that Patrick Wilson will return as Orm in the film.
