Blue Box Ep. 17 “Of Course I Want to See It” has everyone preparing for their respective sport/event. However, it’s definitely Hina who has the spotlight in this episode. Especially with the level of effort she’s putting into playing Snow White in a high school play.

Blue Box Ep. 17 “Of Course I Want to See It”: The Good

As was the case in previous episodes, it’s the story of Blue Box Ep. 17 “Of Course I Want to See It” that’s the best part about it. I would like to clarify first though: every single one of our love triangle does get a significant share of the spotlight. Enough so that it doesn’t feel like they’re being left out. Seriously, Kouji Miura is really good at balancing the different characters in a love triangle here.
That said, it’s also pretty clear that Hina Chōno is the star of this episode. She not only gets the most character exploration, but also the most relationship development. Even if Taiki ultimate turns her down in this episode, there is quite a bit of noticeable progress. Plus, she and Taiki have a cute relationship. They really feel like kids who have been friends since childhood, and this is the natural evolution of that relationship. Complete with all the teasing and everything. It gives her relationship with Taiki an added depth to it that he doesn’t have with Chinatsu…yet.
Oh, and the animation from Telecom Animation Film and TMS Entertainment looks as stunningly beautiful as always. Especially in the lighting department. For some reason, their animation teams have given the lighting an amazing level of detail. Seriously, you can tell what time of day it is just from what kind of lighting is hitting the characters. It’s that good.

Alas, if you’re here for the sports action, then Blue Box Ep. 17 “Of Course I Want to See It” might be a bit boring to you. It’s basically all romantic comedy and romantic drama, complete with slice of Japanese high school life. Even Taiki and Chinatsu need to take a break every now and then, you know. Still, if you want some action, then might I recommend watching Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, Kaiju No. 8, DDDD, DAN DA DAN, and/or Zenshu? Those anime should have more than enough action to tide you over until Blue Box gets back to its regularly scheduled sports action.
